What I'm Loving.....on the tube

This week I'd thought I share some of the new shows I absolutely love. I must admit..... I love TV. I've kinda got a schedule for most days except Fridays and Saturdays. I don't schedule my life around my shows, though. That's the beauty of DVR. But when I'm rocking the babe to sleep late at night and Andy's at work, I love to just be able to catch up on some of my faves. so here they are in no particular order.
1. Worst Cooks:
And maybe this is because I could so be one of these people.
And because my celebrity food crush is Bobby Flay.

2.Once Upon A Time:
First of all I think the premise of this show is pretty original.
I love it when people actually come up with something new.
And I love Ginnifer Goodwin's pixie cut. If only I could be so brave!

3.The Voice:
This is actually the second season for this show.
I started watching it while I was on bed rest in Roseville last summer.
Then the baby came and my world got turned upside down
and we lived in the NICU. I just couldn't keep up with my shows!
Imagine that! I was so excited when this new season began.
And don't you just want to hug Cee Lo?
He's like an oddly shaped teddy bear. I love him.

4 Weddings:
This may not be a new show but it's new to me.
I find it so interesting to see all the different themes people come up with.
If I could do my wedding over I'd put more effort and thought into it.
Seeing as I don't have thousands of dollars lying around,
that probably won't happen.

5. Say Yes To The Dress:
This show is fascinating to me.
I would watch it just to see all the pretty dresses.
But it absolutely amazes me how bossy and pushy
the moms are when it comes to what dress they want to see
their daughter in. Will I be that way when Lily gets married?
I hope not.
The other thing that amazes me is how much these girls spend on their dresses.
I spent $200 on mine.... not $2000 (or 10,000 in some cases...yikes!)
Mostly I love to see the girls tear up when they find "the one".
It's a girl thing!

6. New Girl.
She's quirky and weird. I like quirky. I laugh really hard during this show.

Just What I Needed

So before I start this post I have to admit....I should be emptying the dishwasher. It will make my morning go so much smoother if I do. But I sit and write instead. I'm way too easily distracted and blogging takes a bit of discipline. I actually have something to blog about so I better go with it.

I've been in a bit of funk this week. It's kind of hard to explain why. There are several reasons actually. The first probably being lack of sleep. The more I dwelt on the negative, the deeper in a funk I got. I knew I was digging this hole deeper and deeper; but I didn't care and just didn't want to have a good attitude. Ever feel like that?

Contentment. It can be really hard sometimes. Really hard.

Because of Andy's work schedule, we don't go to our first church service. We just go to the second hour which is Sunday School. I've really missed going to church. I know that in this season of my life, with 2 small kids and a husband that works nights, there are some sacrifices that have to be made. I know it won't always be this way. Doesn't mean I like it. It just means I understand.

So tonight, I finally made it to Sunday evening service. My sweet little Henry lasted a few minutes, which I figured would happen. I happily handed him over to my dad who took him out in the foyer. The fact that I could listen to the sermon without interruption or my attention be diverted was, well.... it was pretty awesome.

Halfway through the sermon I did have to take him to the back and feed him. But I still got to listen and they sang praise songs at the end (which I have also dearly missed by not going to church in the morning).

Will I make it every Sunday night? Probably not. But I'm going to try. My world revolves Little H's naps these days, so we'll see.

It shouldn't have surprised me that a good night's sleep (which I finally got last night.... Can I get an Amen!?) and time in God's house with God's people was just what I needed to start to pull me out of my bad attitude blues.

A Bug Has Hit the Bauer House

(I actually wrote this a week ago; but the computer was having major technical difficulties. Couldn't let a good post go to waste though.)

Yikes! It's been awhile. I really need to work on that New Year's Resolution of writing more and watching less T.V. But, come on................. Worst Cooks In America, Once Upon A Time, Smash, The Voice!!! It's hard to keep up.

Anywho..... the last 5 days in the Bauer house have been filled with fever, cough and unfortunately poop. Yes, I said it....poop. It started with Lily having a fever on Thursday night. This fever continued until Monday accompanied with a cough, achiness and eventually the big "d". "D" is such an ugly word. I don't even like to say it out loud, let alone spell it out. But really, I'm never sure how to spell it. You know what I'm talking about though.

The fever and cough and "d" weren't such a big deal. Been there done that. But I've never done it with 2 kids before. That's where things got tough. Oh, and Thursday through Sunday night Andy works. I get him about 4 hours out of the day. So that's fun. (Please note sarcasm.)

Before when Lily would get sick, I could drop just about everything. Cuddle up with her and cater to her. That's a challenge with a little one who constantly needs you to feed him and hold him and rock him. And trying to keep Lily from spreading her germs to Henry was a feat on its own. I walked around for 4 days with a canister of Lysol wipes in my mommy holster.

I felt guilty not giving her more attention. It's the challenge of having 2 I guess.

By Sunday I was chomping at the bit to get out of the house. I was having a serious case of cabin fever. I needed fresh air, adult conversation. Those 2 hours out saved my state of mind. Fortunately I had planned to see a movie with friends.

We seem to be somewhat on the mend. No more fever but I'm afraid we still have the big "d" to deal with. Which I'm afraid has turned into the terrible "c". I'm sure you can figure that one out.

I did manage to take some really cute pictures of the kiddos while we were quarantined. I know you are dying to see them. Waiting for the cookies.
Yeah, she ended up being the only one eating those cookies. Found out she had a fever soon after that.

Who is that handsome little man?
Love......those........cheeks
